    WORKPerfect

    The HealthSouth WORKperfect Acute Work Injury Case Management program meets the needs of the employers and their employees by coordinating medical care for an injured employee on a timely basis. Medical and indemnity costs are reduced through improved communication with specialty medical providers and the management of return to work issues by a Nurse Case Manager.

    Staffing - Nurse Case Manager

    • Provides coordination of medical care for injured employees at onset of injury while monitoring return to work issues
    • Act as a liaison among employer, employee, physician, and insurance representative in communicating status of employee's care
    • Provides education to employee on medical condition and addresses any areas of concern
    • Provides education to employer on medical condition in relation to return to work

    Implementation Process

    • Representative from employer contacts Nurse Case Manager at the onset of an employee injury
    • Demographic, injury, and insurance information is noted on a WORKperfect Case Information Sheet
    • An appointment is scheduled and the Case Information Sheet is forwarded to a Physician Specialist from the WORKperfect Medical Provider Panel and Employer's Provider Panel
    • Nurse Case Manager contacts employee with introductions, explaining role of intermediary, and gives employee appointment time
    • All referrals for diagnostics, therapy, or specialists will be coordinated through Nurse Case Manager once approval is received by employer/insurance carrier
    • Cases will be monitored for approximately 90 days with recommendation made for a rehab nurse involvement if surgery is recommended or lost time is extensive

    Charges

    • Complimentary case management services are offered to employers and insurance carriers
