Occupational/Hand Therapy

Most occupational therapists in our outpatient facilities specialize in hand therapy and treat injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, DeQuervain's syndrome, fractures, and tendon injuries.

Goals

• To decrease swelling
• To increase range of motion
• To increase strength
• To increase function in activities of daily living

Services
Treatment sessions last approximately one hour for two to four weeks. Following a comprehensive evaluation, sessions consist of:

• Hot packs
• Cold packs
• Exercises
• Neuromuscular Stimulation
• Fluidotherapy
• Paraffin
• Splinting
