Occupational/Hand Therapy
Most occupational therapists in our outpatient facilities specialize in hand therapy and treat injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, DeQuervain's syndrome, fractures, and tendon injuries.
Goals
- To decrease swelling
- To increase range of motion
- To increase strength
- To increase function in activities of daily living
Services
Treatment sessions last approximately one hour for two to four weeks. Following a comprehensive evaluation, sessions consist of:
- Hot packs
- Cold packs
- Exercises
- Neuromuscular Stimulation
- Fluidotherapy
- Paraffin
- Splinting
