Teams to Bring Awareness to Effects of Stroke at HealthSouth Mechanicsburg's Annual Neuro Games
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – On May 20, teams of 4 or 5 players from around the Mechanicsburg region will go head-to-head in the seventh annual Neuro Games, hosted by HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg. By participating in games like the wheelchair obstacle course, teams will compete for honors while raising awareness of the daily challenges faced by those who have experienced stroke. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with the competition beginning at 11:15 a.m. and the award presentation at 12:20 p.m.
“Every year, approximately 795,000 people in the U.S. experience stroke. Our hospital enjoys presenting this event every year during National Stroke Awareness Month because it educates others on the effects of stroke while bringing the community together for friendly competition,” said Mark Freeburn, CEO of HealthSouth Mechanicsburg. “HealthSouth Mechanicsburg is proud to bring awareness to the cause since it’s a condition that our teams of clinicians treat every day.”
Teams will compete in events to earn gold, silver and bronze awards. Come out to learn more about stroke prevention and rehabilitation. For questions, please contact Denny Mahaffey at 717 691-4834.
